Tanya Fleet is a Toronto-based visual research, music and copyright clearance consultant. She has contributed to more than 100 documentary projects over a 30-year period, as well as several dramatic films and short projects for museum exhibitions.
From pre-production through post, Tanya Fleet can guide producers through the process of budgeting for stock licensing fees and residuals, as well as navigating the clearance of feature film / television clips and music synchronization licenses. With increasingly limited budgets available for documentary production, she can source the most affordable stock media for a project's requirements and help get the story told.
As an avid film lover, it has been her pleasure to also be involved in archival and film preservation endeavours. Beginning with her work with the Audio-Visual Preservation Trust she coordinated the preservation of several films significant to Canadian cinema history. She also managed the digital restoration of several feature and short films for Canada On Screen in celebration of Canada's 150th birthday. The project was initiated by the Toronto International Film Festival and partner organizations to identify, restore and screen moving-image productions from over 100 years of Canadian cinematic history.
